Jayme Maniatis has nearly 13 years of healthcare communications experience and has been with Schwartz Communications since 1997. As a vice president, Maniatis counsels her clients on strategy and messaging and provides them with a broad range of capabilities, including media relations and crisis communications. Maniatis has helped to develop and execute varied PR campaigns, including those designed to support clinical trial recruitment, market conditioning, regulatory events, product launches, regional sales efforts, mature brand revitalization, scientific milestones and communications and issue awareness. As a member of the healthcare practice, Maniatis has worked with a diverse group of clients, specializing in diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotech and healthcare IT. During her tenure at Schwartz, she has represented clients ranging from market challenger to market leader, including Boston Scientific; Cyberonics; Haemonetics; AtheroGenics; StemCells, Inc.; Sanarus Medical; Laerdal Medical; Curon Medical; PerkinElmer Life Sciences; and Phase Forward. Currently, Maniatis is managing a non-branded consumer awareness initiative in the area of obstructive sleep apnea on behalf of ResMed and Respironics. This award-winning campaign has exceeded its goals by helping to increase the diagnosis rate in communities nationwide. She also spent several years as a key-member of the Philips Medical Systems’ team that helped raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest and the need for public defibrillators. Maniatis’ teams have won many of the PR industry’s most prestigious national and regional awards, including the Communicator Crystal Awards, Silver SABRE Award, PRSA Bronze Anvil and numerous Bell Ringer Awards from the New England Publicity Club. She regularly engages top-tier media to secure feature coverage for her clients. Maniatis has successfully placed strategic stories in top media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New York Times, the Associated Press, Forbes, ABC “World News Tonight,” CBS “Evening News with Dan Rather,” CNN and “Good Morning America.” Prior to joining Schwartz, Maniatis was a corporate communications representative at Repligen Corporation, a Massachusetts-based biotech company, where she focused on both media and investor relations activities. She also did work for a boutique healthcare communications agency based in Cambridge, Mass. Maniatis graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a B.A. in communications.
